JOB SUMMARYThe Manager of the Operations Control Center manages the Operations Control Center (OCC) and also performs the duties as an Operations Control Specialist when required.
They provide the operational and Operational Control guidance to pilots on regulatory compliance issues as they may arise pertaining to Company Policy or Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
This Manager also provides assistance to the Central Communications Center supervisors, Medlink, and Maintenance Control in providing mutual management of air ambulance crews performing the Company mission.
They act as a liaison between the Senior Director of Flight Operations, Chief Pilot, Director of Communications, and the other Operations Control Specialists in a manner pertinent to in-flight operations.
They also provide administrative management oversight for the other Operations Control Specialists and the Operations Control Center Department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIESo Conducts classroom training on weather subjects as outlined by the Company pilot training manual for new-hire and recurrent pilot classes.
o Works with the Senior Director of Flight Operations and the Director of Communications to develop, test, and revise as needed the Company Emergency Action Plan (EAP) and PAIP.
o Prepares work schedules and conducts administrative management oversight for the other Operations Control Specialists to include managing overtime.
o Monitors, evaluates, and reports upon request pertinent weather information from in-house weather advisory service to Company pilots.
o Develops and advises Company pilots of operational windows in support of the air ambulance mission.
o Provides Operational Control Guidance.
o Provides real-time in-house mutual management of Company air ambulance crews in conjunction with the on-duty Central Communications Center Supervisor.
o Provides risk assessment analysis across the service area by Base through evaluation of pilot capabilities, weather trending, and type of flight.
