WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS ________________________________________ Sitting 80%.

) Exceptional hand dexterity and typing skills to work with standard software programs provided.
Good computer aptitude in order to input insurance fee schedules, insurance benefits Near Vision--the ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer) as required for computer data entry and the preparation of treatment plans.
VISION/IDEAL OUTCOME ________________________________________ The Insurance Coordinator is essential to the success of the patient experience.
By providing detailed insurance benefit information you are helping each patient make an informed decision regarding the financial impact of their treatment.
Your ability to accurately input insurance profiles will assist the Treatment Coordinators significantly as they work to prepare and present every treatment plan.
POSITION SUMMARY ________________________________________ The Insurance Coordinator is responsible for inputting all insurance profiles (medical and dental) into patient charts in the practice Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
Additionally, the Insurance Coordinator will obtain a breakdown of benefits from the patient's insurance company.
This individual will input profiles and notate all benefit and coverage estimates in each patient's chart prior to the patients' initial consultation with the doctor.
Skills and Abilities Relationship building skills Negotiation skills Computer skills including practice management software Familiarity with dental insurance protocols Familiarity with ADA codes Ability to function within a team environment and be a supportive and positive contributor Ability to market the practice Superb verbal skills with, insurance companies, third party companies and team Ability to take direction for personal improvement Overall comprehension of practice vision, mission and systems RESPONSIBILITIES ________________________________________ Provide, and complete insurance paperwork and obtain information from patients' insurance provider(s) as needed to ensure payment.
Exercises discretion and independent judgment regarding coverage and insurance estimates.
Excellent computer skills and ability to use practice software systems.
Specialized understanding and experience in handling insurance matters in a medical setting.
Actively pursues provision of excellent customer service service.
Must always represent the practice in a professional, pleasant, and cooperative manner.
Must be able to comfortably and efficiently handle multiple deadlines and task assignments.
Must be able to work both independently and cooperatively in team settings.
Must maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance in accordance with assigned schedule and time off policies.
Occasionally there may be some travel, by car or plane, required in order to participate in continuing education or seminars.
